I just introduced a new tiger oscar that is about 2-3 inches. He was introduce 30 minutes ago.He is just laying on the tank floor!Help!

Oscars are very moody and may take a couple of days to adapt.
Just give it sometime and it will be swimming around in no time!
Try feeding tomorrow.

He may just be a little spooked. does he have somewhere to hide? my 2 oscars did the same thing... he's probably just fine. they do that when they are upset.

Oh ok thanks!Im pretty new to larger cichlids. Not my first, but still pretty new.He has 4 plastic plants(I think oscars like to uproot plants,no live) and 2 caves.Sorry for asking so many questions about oscars, but also should I feed him when I normally feed the others,or should I wait until tommorow? Thanks

give it time...i'll be alright...how big is the tank he is in?

Alright thanks. He is fine now, swimming around the tank and eating well.He isn't skittish, either. He is in a 30 growout(he will be eaten by my other larger fish). How long do you think he could last in one?He will be moved to a 55.

typical of oscars they almost always sulk like that, although just do the typical lookout for parasites etc. while in quarantine
