Please help me out guys the AC70 on my 55 gallon won't turn on. I plugged it out along with everything else so I could do my water change and now that I plugged it back in it just won't turn on.

It's not even making the BZZZ sound it makes before filling the chamber with tank water and I touched the motor/impeller thing and it was pretty hot.

Please help me guys this is urgent.

Just take off the motor and remove the impeller, Look for any debris that might have been caught between the magnet walls, also look for hair around the shaft. Then reassemble should be fine again.

Really? Dude I love you.

But how do I take it off?

AquaClear can have priming problems. Get a chop-stick or pencil and put it in the impeller. Give it a nudge and it should start.

Keep us updated.

Thanks so much guys, last night I emptied the chamber and used a toothpick to fiddle around with the impeller and after that, it worked :D

thanks guys it means a lot.

Great filters, but sticking can happen after a power out. happens to me. I just more the intake tube to the side and give the impeller a little push. Usually that's all they need to start again.

Using the toothpick to get it started will work only until the next power outtage. Chances are the impellar well is filthy. Unplug the filter and take it to a sink. Trace the cord to the black box on the bottom of the filter housing. Twist and pull to remove the motor. Remove the impeller. Clean both the impeller and the motor. Check to ensure the impeller is not warn out or damaged. Replace the impeller into the motor and the motor into the filter housing. Return it to the tank. Fill with water from the tank and then plug in.

Doesn't change a thing. I've got 3 - AC110/500, 2 - AC20 and 3 - AC30. Some have "stuck" since day 1, brand new. I've also cleaned, changed impellors, motors, etc. The pencil method is the best.
