Help mounting a light in my hood

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There appears to be a lot of dead space on the ends, I would utilize this. Build 2 small trapezes out of 1x and space so that the dead space is over the trapeze.

So i have decided to use the tracks that the legs latch into. I'm going to cut off the part of the leg that locks into the track on the light. I'm going to attach the latch to some "L" angles that will be mounted on the hood.

As i type this i realize its very hard to explain with out pictures.
So....

The first pic is of the track that run along the light.

2nd pic, is the latch that fit in the track. I'm going to cut the head off the legs and use that.

3rd pic, this is the "L" angels that I've made into a bracket to attach the latch that will slide into the track.

4th pic, is how the bracket will fit onto the light. (Still need to put the latch on the bracket)

This turned into a DIY thread. Hahaha

5th pic, this is a side view of how the bracket fits on the light.
