I recently moved and my aro won't eat anything. It has been 24 days since the move, It was eating fine before the move. I've tried to feed him all kinds of food and won't even look at his favorite food. all other tank mates are eating fine. It's swimming fine and acting normal not skidish. I also have a 6'' aro in a diffrent tank that was moved at the same time and he is fine and didn't take long for it to start eating again. So im starting to get worried that its going to starve to death. what should i do?:cry::cry:

Wow he must be eating something, I can't imagine he'd be swimming well after 24days without food. I know I wouldn't be doing well after a week, and I'm a little bigger than your aro. I'd literally try every food on the planet, thats a good size aro.

Liz(Red Devil) had her aro go for near 8 weeks without eating, no need to worry.

Adult Aros can last up to 2-3 months without food. Aros don't really starve themselves to death. They usually would eat food that is offered if they are really hungry.

well so far i've offered him shrimp, smelt, earthworms, cricket's,fresh krill, goldfish, fresh beef heart, live mice, grass hopper. he usaly swim's right over me when i open the hatch to the tank and eats out of my hands or part of my hands lol now it's like im not even their he doesn't even look at the food. I'm stumped :(

hey barry.. like others have mentioned large aros can usually go for food for a long period.. male aros when mouth brooding go for about 45 days without food.. quickly how big is the tank you've moved the aro to.. what are the tankmates? i'm assuming the 6" aro is in the same tank and thats a disaster in waiting.. move that one out before your larger aro whacks it.. dont worry too much.. if other tankmates eat the same food as the aro jus provide that.. the aro will eat in a bit.. check the temp and water parameters.. do prob 10% to 20% water changes over the next few days... it should be fine.. cheers..

My arowana is having some issues as well.

But he's not 28" he's 6" He's acting kind of jumpy too for some reason.

Should I worry? sorry to thread jack but I didn't want to make another "arowana not eating" thread.

Hope your arowana gets better.
