Ok
my sixbar is a pig, eats what ever it can and competes with anything.
i think its obese but in saying that, i also cant stop it eating food of other fish.

it eats hikari cichlid gold, floating economy pellets, what ever it goes in.

I started noticing a couple days ago pits on its heat and today i noticed some pits and growth on its tail, body and dorsal fin.

pics attached.

its in with plenty of fish - non show any symptoms.

nitrate is never above 20 to 30ppm.
no nitrite, no am.

Acne?

lol ok
its not helping guys :p

hole in the head, but wh does it have that stuff on the fins and body?

can it be obesity that causes that?
cos this guy just eats like crazy
i cant stop it.
it eats anything i put in the tank!

says in the sitcky that hole in the head can be caused yb huge bio load

ok
this could be a cause

i have massive filtration to cope iwth the bioload
my feeding regime is currently heavy, then fasting days, medium then fasting days, medium then light feeding then another fasting day.

should i be feeding lighter more frequently?

say the food should be spread out during the week as opposed to lumped together in a few days?

this would make sense, reducing total peak bioload - which then lets the nutrients remain in the water instead of bacteria consuming it.

Hole in the head and ALOT of other diesease are caused by poor water quality. Try upping your water change schedule and percentage. That should make a HUGE difference! Try to keep nitrates below 10 PPM. Distachodus are VERY sensitive when it comes to water quality.
