Monoculus ;)
come home today and my fish have white on them..but not small dots like ich..

they have been in the tank since saturday, and were doing fine. eating the first day they went in...

I added a stingray yesterday who had some white stringy poop...im guessing this might be the culprit

ALTHOUGH the 3 bala sharks, and 1 goldfish in the tank seem un affected...also the stingray doesnt have these white markings!

oooh man please bump up the temp to atleast 86, and add salt.
Is this to treat ich? Or something else?

I am positive this isn't ich. I just want to know if I should treat for parasite or something else.

The stingray having white stringy poop is a sign of parasite there. So if he introduced it into the tank I'd imagine the peacock bass have parasites?

plz help =O

yes it is a treatment for ich, but it also a regular treatment for many sicknesses. give it a shot before you try meds.

i wouldnt recomend using salt with the ray in there try some black water extract or indian almond leaves
what are your water parameters have you checked amonia and nitrite levels the ray could have fould the water with all the stress of being moved
these are a few things i would be checking first before adding any meds

Bala sharks and goldfish with pbass? Your temp should be at least 86* with those pbass anyway, which the ray will be fine with, but the balas and the goldfish will hate. You need to move them out.

Sounds like there was something wrong with the ray that is affecting the pbass more at this point. You may need some myacin or maracin.. it looks a little like some kind of fungus.

Hows your water quality?Ammonia nitrite and nitrate?Sounds like you added a lot of fish at once and threw the tank out of balance.Timeframe screams ammonia spike.Waterchanges, lots of waterchanges.....

I had a similiar thing happen with my parrot fish. I did a large water change 40%+ in my 120g and it went away the next day. But it keeps coming back! I haven't figured it out yet =/
