My house
hey guys, as stated above, recently i got a group of 4 wc bichirs, tikinso, faranah, nigerian endli and an ansorgii from Toyin. First off, sorry for a long post :( Unfortunately, the faranah endli, 14”-15” jumped out while i was at work, and nobody noticed until i got home at around 1am. My best guess is that it jumped, and stayed out side for prob an hour or two. When i got home, i put her back into the tank right away. I did a 40% wc, added salt, stress coats (doubled the dose because she lost a lot of slimes while being out side). Now it has been two days and she’s getting worse :( loosing more slime, looks like there’s blood on her skin, not as active as the others bichirs. Back then i used to have a faranah lap jumped out as well for an hour and a half, and it’s not as bad as this endli :( I’m really frustrating right now :( can you guys please share some infos about how to treat it. Thank you!
As you guys can see, she sheds a lot of slimes :(

Would just wait a bit. Likely slime from the stress of jumping out. Keep the water clean and aerate the tank with a powerhead. Post/check ur water parameters. Obviously cover the tank. Dim the lights.

Don't see any blood on the skin in pics and just likely all traumatic. Reduce the stress and make sure it's eating.

Polys usually are tough and need time to recover. Nothing to prevent as clean water, salt and stress coat already there.

Sorry to hear about your faranah endli jumping and being stressed.

Can you please post water parameters? Ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate? Temp of water?

Is she still eating?

How do the slime coats look on the other polys?

Would have tagged Dr. kno4te kno4te , but he's already on it! ;)
He's saved my polys many a times and me from losing my s*** . He is the man and knows his stuff. Would highly recommend following his advice!

It will take days maybe 2 weeks for the slime coat to go bavk to normal.
Do you have a spare tank that is easier to do WC, salt and clean water will to the trick, i dont think you need the stress coat.
Try to dim the light too.

Thanks guys for replying so fast! Everything in check! Just The pH from my tap and drinking water is at around 8.2-8.6. Yes, it’s extremely high :( i added the seachem neutral regulator to bring down the pH to around 7.6 already. Nitrate, nitrite, amonia are in check! And i’m dont turn on the light that regularly, only when i take pictures of them. The other bichirs are completely normal. I haven’t feed them yet since i just got them last friday, i’ll feed them later today and see if they’ll take the food. So what i need to do is just keep the water clean, add salt, stress coats just in case, no light and everything should be good right?! Thanks guys!

No need to worry
Keep the water extra clean in ot will be fine.
My faranah did yhe same thing ladt year.

Have you tried Indian almond leaf? It helps the PH to go down, now that im keeping and breeding bettas and discus it works good, my tap water is at 7.8 ph, with the IAL it drops to 7.0-7.2 range, the only thing is it makes the water alittle yellow but with some WC it will clear up, plus its cheap and natural way to bring PH down.

I wouldnt mess with the ph. His polys would do better off with it being high but stable than it fluctuating. Plus i think the water is kind of on the high side in the lakes and rivers they come from
