i recently got my Midas cichlid about a week ago. about ~12 inches long. he is kept in a 55 gallon tank by himself. the tank has been set up for about a month, i had about 20 cichlid frys in there for about a week. the temperature was kept at about 78-80 degrees.
about 2 days ago, i noticed the skin around the fishes eyes were turning orange.
last night, i noticed it had ich and the skin around the eyes were almost red. so i immediately did a water change and turned the temperature up to 86 degrees and put aquarium salt in there. i havn't checked the water yet, but i will tonight. i will also post some pictures of him when i get off work tonight. i really hope he recovers soon
my question is, is what i'm doing adequate for him to recover? and what is that color around its eyes? is it just stressed or is there something else wrong with it?
