My flowerhorn recently started swimming on the surface and sticking his head above. He will swim around the tank to the other corner every minute or so. I don't know what to do. Help will be greatly appreceaited.

What other stock is in the tank? What type filtration do you have? Is there any aeration?
My first thought for any fish swimming near the surface and head out of the water would be insufficient oxygen.
Also you could check the temperature if a heater malfunction raises water temperature too high, that will lower the waters ability to hold dissolved oxygen.

There is just another pleco in the tank. It is temporary until he goes in my growout which is cycling. The temp is around 76 degrees farenhieght. I put an air stone in last night and he seems to be doing better.
Sad to hear that the world is left with one beautiful fish deducted ?He died this morning. He looked fine after I did the water change and I didn't expect him to die. It was very sudden.
