Help!! My gar acting weird

2 of my 5inch gar died this afternoon. Both was eating
well until 2-3 days ago.
Both started floating on the top water with the partial body
exposed out of the water and mouth opening with air bubbles
coming out. Totally stopped eating and twitching and flipping.

Tank is comm with 2 peacock bass and 1 freshwater perch.

Incompatible tankmates for starters. Could have spooked the gars and caused a spinal injury which might account for some of what your describing.

Can you give more information about the size of the tank, water parameters, complete stocking, etc.

Could it be swim bladder problem?

Im on a 4 x 2 x 2 ft tank with some driftwood in it.

Sounds like ammonia shock. If the gars are new, they'd show symptoms earler than the existing fish that have had time to adjust to the increases. What's your maintenance schedule?
