alright, maybe the title was a little dramatic. But anyways, I recently purchased some guppies that i wanted to use to produce live feeders. I just glanced into my tank, and noticed one of the females had a swollen head. the fish wasn't like this a few hours ago... both sides are swollen, the eyes are swollen... any idea on what this can be?

Dropsy.

Will be gone in a few days, probably hours. Unless you're willing to spend some money and try and use clout I believe "might" work.

Sorry about that man...I honestly didn't read it. I looked for info and tried to get it to you ASAP....this happend to my parrot ciclid...i think aquarium salt sometimes does the trick.

I've saved many fish from dropsy even when they were "past saving".

I can not express my love of Bifuran/Furan 2. It's a yellow powder. Also known as Oxytetracycline. It's for bacterial/fungal disease.

Works like a charm.

If the fish makes it through the night go to the lfs and purchase it...even if it does die it will be good to have.

Also if you have melafix or pimafix...it also helps.

I've never had any luck with this at all for any reason.

I don't see how it will work.

Just saying.
