my 12 inch male rd/mds hasnt eaten in four days thats how long iv had him iv never seen such agression in a fish he constantly atacks me the glass the gravel the 20 inch plec i no this is normal for cichlids but ???????????? help?????????????

hahaDo you know what he was fed before you purchased him? If so then he's probably just missing that and is reluctant to try any of the foods you're offering. You can either purchase some of his old food or wait. He will eventually get hungry enough to eat. If he goes a week or more, then I'd start to worry, but he should shape up soon and get an appetite.
i agree give him time to get more used to his surroundings and new foods.
but yes your in for it because these suckers can pack a punch in the cichlid world.

thx very much i tried prodding him wiv muscle on a stick but he went round the stick and tried eating me
Don't try too much either - just leave him a couple of days and try him with some cichlid sticks - mine has never eaten prawn, mussel ect - he will just be adjusting to his surroundings, best not to try them with food then anway - you would be suprised how long they can go without.
Mine also didn't want to eat at first. I gave him a couple of days to get used to his surroundings and now he is eating like a champ. Good Luck with him.
