Ok I have 6 small 2-3" oscars and when i first got them they were pigs and now they don't want to eat, they eat what they have to they look maulnutritioned and they are in a 20 gallon tank right now, there is plenty of room i will be only keeping them in there for a few more weeks before i put them in my 100 gallon tank, filteration is not the problem either neither is water changes, what should i feed them i have tried everything,i have been feeding them shrimp and chopped up fish (like perch and stuff) they seemed to LOVE that for like a month now they are not eating it like before and only eating what they have to like i said before is there anything that i can try to feed them and if so what? there is also one fish that hasn't eaten in like 3 days, he is alone in the corner there is noting wrong with him other then he is by himself and not eating, i have to put the food in a funny place (you know just to see if i could get him to eat it) and he would swim up to the top and not even take it :WHOA: please help

Get a test kit and check your levels. Chances are that in addition to the overstock, you are overfeeding some very messy food.
ok thanks and i'm not tourturing them lol they are going to be in the 100 ASAP

Glad to here that. 6 oscars in a hundo is still pushing it. Why are they not already in there?
I just wanted to make sure everything is ready cycling temperature levels, etc., the 6 will not all live in the 100 forever either, i am looking for a breeding pair

first look at their poo if its white/stringy then they may have parasites and need to be treated, also with that many Os even if they are that small, and feeding messy food like that you will need to be doing 50% daily wc in order to keep the water clean enough, if their poo is fine then check their water params and give us exact numbers, and fast them for a day so see if this makes them feel like eating again, also Os beg alot for food so its really tempting to feed them everytime they beg but they really dont need that much food

It is only one oscar that i am having a problem with and i have now idea if his "poo" lol is white because he doesn't even eat enough to go to the bathroom he has not eaten sense saturday and i am very concerned! The tank is always fairly clean, i let them take the food out of my hands so it doesn't just fall to the ground and make a mess they eat it right then and there, in a week we do 3-4 water changes about 40%
