It looks like it is some kind of body fungus. i already treated with melafix and that didn't work (still lost my paradise fish and dwarf gourami). now im attempting to treat with pimafix. hopefully it works, can anybody that knows their stuff positively id this disease for me?

sorry about the pics i hope they're good enough, my camera is kinda janky.

Yeah I think its a bacterial infection. Is it cottony or crusty at all? Keep water clean and raise the temp up a little. As far as meds, I dont know what to recommend, I used Maracyn once and it cleared my fishes' infection.

It looks sort of cottony, is maracyn that powder stuff that you can get at like petsmart or am i thinking of something else?

Here's one more i just took a little better still

Yeah you can get Maracyn at most petstores. How long has the fish had this? I would do a water change and wait one day. If it looks like its improving then dont medicate. if it looks the same or worse then go ahead. But you know, I am not sure what to recommend for medication. I would wait for someone else to help you. I am a bit nervous telling people how to treat things like this because I dont want them losing fish.

But clean water will help you here thats for sure. Ive had instances where a fish of mine had this and clean water cleared it up in 2-3 days.

5 days, which is the same amount of time i've been treating with pimafix... i'll do a water change quick and see how that goes, also, now that i look closer, it appears that his skin is starting to come back in the middle of the sore? i'm assuming that means it is slowly healing?

i would try maracyn plus. i believe its erythromyacin (a broad spectrum anti biotic which means it can treat gram negative AND gram positive bacteria). btw, in the future you can use pimafix and melafix together-thats how i use them.

hope it goes away! a broad spec. antibiotic should work...
