:cry:hi to all, im a new member to this forum,, just want to seek opinions and advices.

two of my senegals are having red traces in their dropping,,.possibly blood:cry:
probably it was caused by me feeding them Superworms..
and worst, 1 of my senegals lost its appetite,, just this noon while cleaning the tank, red colored droppings..this time its all like blood traces in it.
is this a sign of a clog in the digestive tract?
please someone help me.

im so desperate right now about this. :cry:shouldnt had fed them superworms

Mine love superworms and ive never had any problems, you sure theyve not eaten gravel or something.

i keep my sens with a bare bottom tank here...the only gravel or pebble is found in my side filter. :(( just before diner i checked, the sen who lost its appetite excreted again a blood like droppings.
btw my sens are aprox 6,7and 8 inches already.

please help my bichirs

What exactly are superworms and for how long have you been feeding them? Have there been any major changes in their diet? Personally, I think you're overreacting. There is a difference between reddish feces and actual blood in the feces. I feed my bichirs a variety of foods, which sometimes includes frozen bloodworms, which will probably change their waste to a reddish color. I just checked online. It appears that superworms are basically mealworms. If you think that these are the problem, there is only one thing you can do -- Stop feeding superworms. There's no super drug or remedy for this issue. If there truly is a digestive problem, basically, you need to starve them for a few days and stop stressing their digestive systems. Hopefully, they will recover.

Yep what they said^^ too.
Are they still acting normal other than you saying one has lost its appetite.

@phillydog- i fed my sens with feeder fishes, molies, swordtails, and platies. its mainly their diet. it was the first time i fed them with SW. thanks for the advice bro, i wont feed them with SW again. i think i didnt made a clear discription about the red colored excretions. its was mucus like. likely has blood trace.
been starving my bichirs for two nights now. still found the redish excretion, but no sign of getting weak. hope they will recover.

@machine- the SW i have here are just light brownish in color a bit darker brown in their tail segments.

they are still acting normal so far..still swimming around in the a huge basin i put them for monitoring purpose while i cleaned the aquarium.

is there anyone here in the furom expienced likely case as mine?
really need some more opinions.
thanks for the post guys.
keep in touch
