Ok. Its a gold spotted red sevrum (the one in my profile pic). Two weeks ago i noticed a white fungis grouwing on the side of its face. I picked up some pimafix. Ive been dosing the tank for about 6 days now. The white spot on the face went away within two days. Just to make sure it was gone i kept treating the tank. Noticed last night that the sevrum was acting weird. Not eating and staying at the bottem.

Today, it keeps rolling over and on its side. I pulled it out of my big tank and put it in a 15 gal hospital tank. Its leaning against the fiter at the moment in the 15 gal. Im doing a 40% water change on the big tank to start removing the pimafix.

Pimafix says its safe for all fish. But its odd behavior didnt start happening untill the tank had a few does of it. So im confused. If its not from the pimafix then its an odd thing that this is happening to him righ now.

let me know any info that you may need. lets hope this guy makes it through.

So now it keeps doing flips in the hospital tank. Its not looking any better. But it definitely has a hard time keeping itself upright. I changed about 5 gallons in the hospital tank. It had a small bichir in their before i put the sevrum in.

I could only take a wild guess. The fish appears healthy.
Pimafix does contain clove oil. maybe your fish was very sensitive to it, and the repeated doses &/or prolonged exposure basically euthanized him.

petspoiler... thank you for responding. Reading the pimafix label it states over and over that it is safe for all fish and corals. I was concerned with a swim bladder issue because he kept floating upside down. I'm truly bumbed. Thanks again for responding.

Really, my post is a pure guess. Someone else may have a better one. Maybe it was a bladder issue.? I have no idea.

when posting about sick fish, sometimes you have to keep "bumping" your post so it appears at the top of the New Posts list for members to view it.
Real sorry about your loss. he was gorgeous.

I'm sorry you lost your fish. Sometimes from the discription of the symtoms we do not know whats wrong with the fish. No one wants to give you bad advice. We are not doctors so we try to help each other as best we can. It appears your fish was sick for a while. If you asked for help sooner we might have had time to make some suggestions weather they would have helped or not we just don't know.

This "Nothing like getting ignored while one of your fish dies. Thanks for the help everyone." is really unfair to all those on here that give up their free time in an attempt to help others. I am really sorry your fish died and I hope your just feeling the frustration and will reconsider your statement.

And the rebirth. So walked into LFS today. Just before i left i spotted what i though were baby discus. Nope 6 red spotted sevrums. So i picked one up. Its only about 2".

Its funny how things happen. I do not frequently see red spotted sevrums. Within a few weeks of my big guy dying, i get another chance.
Currently in my grow out 15 soon to hit my 60 and final in my 180.

I just wish i knew where i went wrong before. Saw the fungus, treated it for the recommended time and does. Fungus went away withing two days. 4 days latter its not eating. Next day its turning upside down and dies.
