Help my Sump is low in water ?

What is in the first few compartments? It may be that your media is clogged and needs to be rinsed out or that not enough water is flowing into the sump. Just add water to the sump or the tank, either should be fine. What happens is that because there is an overflow or drain, the tank level will remain the same but your sump will have less water in it.

Did you just set up your tank and this is the first time you started the sump? I had this exact problem when I first started using sumps. I didn't realize how long it takes for the water to come back from the tank to the sump so my sump would run dry when I first powered up the pump.

Just add water to the pump while it's on until the sump water level is where you want it.

Note: Test if the sump has the extra capacity to hold all that water by turning off the pump and waiting for all the water to drain back down into the sump. If it looks like your going to over flow the sump, turn the power back onto the pump.

If your going to over flow you need a reservoir or a complete redesign of your sump.

Edit: I have fill lines on my sumps now for pump off and pump on levels. Huge help when doing water changes and so on.
