Yes unless u vent ut
Thanks for the reply. The Jag is in a nicely planted 65 gallon all by itself right now. It seems to be enjoying hanging out in the plants right now. Is the 65 to small for a single Jag and is it going to destroy my nice plants when he matures a little? I can put him in a 125 but I don't want him messing with my Oscar's. Thanks.

From everything i've read on here, the 65 will be to small for it as it grows. Also, individual fish do vary, but apparently Jags like to kill other big fish because they have bigger teeth and they can.
They are very cool fish though. I really would like to have one but don't have the space yet.

This is correct. Plus they are the 2nd largest parachromis species (dovii 1st). Big fish need big tanks. My biggest tank is a 150g. If I were to keep a jag, it would be only one with no tankmates. Some people will say even a 150g is too small for a male jag.

A 65 is fine for now but you will need to upgrade to atleast a 180. If it's a male I can reach upward to 15" and thick.

I agree with the others, a 65 a OK temporarily, but a much larger tank will soon be needed.
I was able to keep a pair of P managuense (with no other fish) in a 150 gal for a long time. The male easily hit 15", and they produced many spawns in that tank, back in the 80s.
If I had the same pair today, I'd try to provide a much larger tank.
