A local lfs has both of these, and I want to make sure I am buying the correct species. Please give me some detailed pics of Retro and Palmas, to save a Wurm from spending my scratch on bunk. LOL

This is where a lot of members would suggest google. ;) But I'm not gonna do that...though I suppose I just did. Huh. All well, perhaps this will help.

P. palmas
http://fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSummary.php?id=2386

P. retropinnis
http://fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSummary.php?id=2387

Now don't pay attention to the pictures only as fishbase has fairly good info on morphology and that may be the only way to ID them once you're back in the store.

Google was my first stop. I want to ask the experts I know, not random people I don't. I would appreciate any more pics of Retros specifically.

.

That's the funniest thing I've ever read while keeping a straight face.

We all know how accurate google image search is. Check out this awesome jag I found on the first page of my "jaguar cichlid" search. http://www.fishinsecrets.com/fishinsecretswebsite017015.jpg

It was just a joke. I have been seeing a lot of people telling others to get their answers from google. I disagree with this advice, kind of goes against the entire purpose of this forum in the first place. So Ewurm, Rally, I hope you didn't take offence.

I was going to suggest fishbase earlier, but the pics of one species (I forget which one) are not verified and just link to a google image search.

Nothing wrong with getting information from google, getting images is not a great idea though.
