IN MY TANK
Hi, i will to please find out what will be the recommed size of a sump filter for a 228gallon tank(180x60x80cms)

The main point of the sump will be for the bio system. As i have a 1500l canister filter and 2 1000l internal filter runing in the tank.

Thank you

Depends where your inlet and outlet to the tank are located and sump design. Generally 1/4 size of your tank per total sump volume = around 60 gallons. You can get away with a 40 gallon as a minimum if the inlet and outlets are high in the tank.

are you asking cause your current biofiltration isnt cutting it?
if so, i'd so 5-10g should do the trick given that you have VERY precise control of your water flow. The key really is to provide TONS of bio-media

I got a 15g sump tank (water level is like 10g or so) for 150g tank, got like 150 scrubbies crammed in there mind you...
And the bio load is:
3 goldfish
9 barbs
5 loaches
5 bala sharks
2 plecos
2 mollies
4 angels
10 danios
and 6 frys in a intank mesh
