does anyone hve any good info on brittle sea stars (also known as serpant starfish). and if they are copatable tankmates with lionfish? cuz im either gonna get one or the other but if possible both. any info is greatly appreciated.

yeah they should be fine with lionfish..

they are predatory on smaller slower fish.. but with a lion that's not even a concern

thanks, im planning on either an 55 or 75g tank, will the lion they to eat the star? and are there any other compatable tankmates that could go with them?

no he wont... unless he's stupid..

what kind of lion?
if it's a volitans i wouldn't go with a 55,, it's too narrow.. a 75 is good but a 120 would be better.. much wider..

fish that are too large to swallow whole, eels, groupers, trigger & puffers (will probably nip fins) wrasses, and butterflies..

thanks for that info. it will be useful in the future. we have well water and its been running out alot lately and i cant get a tank that big yet (and lack of space). so im going to go with a 29g set up. im still going to go with the brittle star but instead of a lion im going to get some clownfish and ananomes(spelling may be wrong).

my anemone was my first coral in my tank and its doing great... i think thats just for more delicate anemones... but i may be wrong!

Ya most anenomes but not the bubble tip anenome, also a anenome is not a coral, its a invert.

not all rectangles are aquares, but all squares are rectangles...
technically speaking corals are just colonial anemones...

but i agree the tank should be fairly well established before any inverts (aside from say snails or hermits) are added..

in a 29 why not just go with a dwarf lionfish?
