Hey guys,

So my Cichlids I have recently got are acting strange. They keep rubbing themselves against the bottom of the tank??

And woke up today and one of them has a white lump over its eye?

Not got access to camera unfortunately. It is like a white film over one of the fishes eyes!

your fish has cloudy eye.

Yep. Fish rubbing themselves on gravel and what not is a sign of ammonia............

How do I solve it?

What could cause this as its a new tank only been set up 1-2 weeks?

the simple fact is a new setup is enough to cause high ammonia...
you could try adding some Microbe-lift/tac is awesome for new setups that have not cycled properly.

What kind of filtration have you got? Adding nitra-zorb to the filter should help bring the ammonia level down, How many fish did you add to the new tank?

surprised noone has mentoioned this... tank isnt cycled so if i were you the best way to solve it for now is daily water changes....
