Help needing in GT breeding

Dear Friends,

I have a pair of GT male is 6" and Fem 4"+ in 55G tank, I have noticed when the female lay egg , but not let the male to fertilize the egg and chase him until he runaway on other side of tank .
She guard the egg and after some day it all get fungus , I really don't know why this happening . need help PLS.

Put a devider in your tank, keep male one side and female on the other..
put the rock or whatever she usually lays her eggs on close to the devider..
when she lays the eggs the male will be able to fertilise some through the devider..
i used to use this method with my red devils ..
