Hi guys

Just wondering if anyone had some tips - bought 2 juvenile grunters (aussie natives) and took them home. Put them in the tank and all they're doing is swimming around gulping at the surface. The tank is well established and well airated/water flow on the surface. A silver dollar that was already in there is copying them, but the other original inhabitants are acting normally.

The trip home was in proper bags, about 45 min.

Is this common behaviour for grunters when stressed?

Any help appreciated!

Cheers

was it oxygen in the bag or normal air ? they might have been suffacating apart from that i can't say mate

I have a Coal Grunter Hephaestus carbo. Is this the same as a sooty grunter? He seems to be very hardy and eats for England!!

He was in a bag for about 4 hrs when I collected him and ate a live river shrimp 5 mins after placing in his new tank

Although only a juvenile at about 5" he lives alone.

Top fish!!!
