M y buddy and I just set up a new tank with some African cichlids. The third day into it theres this gross clear slime all over the rocks and driftwood. Does anyone know of how to get rid of it? What it might be?

its just fungus that was dried on the rocks, it happened to me. i just got alot more flow in the tank and waited a few days and it went away...

Be careful with driftwood in African tanks, it lowers your PH. Other than that do a 50% water change and/or throw a power head in there with a little sponge filter on it. Also, do you have double filtration on your tank? I always like to run two overhangs.

you just have to wait it out let the tank run for a few days and it will clear up

Sounds like it leached from the wood. A good scrub of the rocks and wood and increase cirulation should help clear it up.
