Its a 30 gallon tank with a short bodied green terror and a convict pair... Gt is about 3 inches and the convicts are about 2

As you see below, the only way to reduce NO3 is through water changes or LOTS of live plants. Either way, you need to do water changes (even if you have enough plants to completely use all of the NO3 that's being created. With 160 ppm, I'd start out slowly so you don't shock your fish - maybe 10% at a time every 2 days. Once your levels are normal again (between 15-40 ppm), then you can move to weekly water changes in a sufficient enough volume to keep it under control.

I would add a capful of prime right away. Do a 50% Water Change right away. Make sure your filter isn't too dirty (this can be the source of your problem). Before you noticed the high nitrates, what is your water change schedule like and % changed at each water change? Re-test the next day, do another water change of 50% the next day if nitrates are still high. "Repeat & Rinse". May also want to test your water source for nitrates.
