what tank mate would you put in a 10 gallon tank with an electric blue jack dempsey he is about 1.5-2 inches long, he gets fed bloodworms 3x a day, has a heater at 78 degrees and gets weekly 20% water changes and two filters.

i have read not to put a tank mate in such a small tank at this point should i get another small fish as a stree reliever or no??:screwy::confused::confused::confused:

No tank mates. But he needs a staple diet. Give him pellets. Blood worms are a treat. And he will need a bigger tank in the near future.

Exactly!! no tank mates and you really need to get a larger tank. a 10 should be for gold fish or a medical treating tank for temporary use only. and you should be doing 20% daily water changes with that tank not a weekly. I agree with everyone else. EBJD's have enough issues as it is, craming them into a 10 feeding lare amounts of protien and lacking on the cleaning and water changes?? might as well get a coffin ready soon. and you were thinking about getting a tankmate:ROFL: seriously please dont do that. for some reason i believe you were gonna go down to the lfs and pick something up and throw it in there. majority of the fish from lfs carry parasites or some other junk and it would have killed your jd anyway. So please get a larger tank, maybe a 55 or something then you can possibly buy another lil jd or two and grow them out together. and use that 10 to treat the new fish you buy from the lfs:)

I agree with just about everything said...one exception is that a 10 gallon is definitely not suitable for even one goldfish. ;)
