I am new to the whole fish thing. I breed reticulated pythons and i have 2 american alligators. one resides at my old job and i have the other in a 250 gallon tank. but i know nothing about filtration. I dont understand the whole "media" thing. wheres a good place to start? I was interested in building a starter tank of 4ft by 12" tall by 5 ft long. What are some good fish to start out with. I like rays, but would have to be fresh water, and do you clip the end of the tails like aquariums that have touch tanks do? This is all new to me so any help would be awesome!
