wasnt sure where to post this
right now my 40 gallon tank is on the floor and im getting a stand for it tonight, so i need to drain my tank put my fish in the quarentine tank then re setup my tank
im going to drain all the water into a 50 gallon tub then put it back into the tank and maybe do an immidiate water change? 50%? 20?
my question is how should i go about doing this? im afraid that im gunna stir up all the BB in my gravel and endup with an ammonia spike when i setup my tank, should i clean my gravel before putting it back in the tank or just be safe and go bare bottom. any info would be great on what to expect or any warings ill take all the help i can get
thank you:)

also while its drained should i reseal my tank? i dont want to remove the seals then add new i was wondering if i could just addon to my seals and that would give me stronger seals

just personal expreince here. i vac as much crud out as possible till 25% left. put all the water and substrate in new tank and roll with it. has worked for me many times. obvious things such as temp and tap water treatment if you need it.

are they leaking? new silicon wont stick to old so why waste time, money and effort?
