Hi. I'm Planning to build a tank of the dimensions 12L X 6H X 5W (Front 30 mm Glass and the sides and the back will be Concrete) holding approximately 2600 gallons. I will house a Silver Arowana (probably add one more later), 4 Oscars and Plecos in this setup. I'm from India and I can't find professionals who i can approach on help with filtration and heating for this setup. Please help me with your valuable suggestions. Thanks in Advance. Cheers.

Plan you filter to be about 1/3 of the size of your tank if possible. You will need about 260 gallons of biological filter media (pot scrubbers are the most cost effective). There are many designs that you can find on this site and else where. You'll just need to increase the size to suit your needs.

Yep, I saw one of these yesterday and thought of you.

I took a picture of it, but my phone was full. :( Anyway, it is really small (about 1 ft tall) and has two inch plumbing in the back. They have stainless steel heater body's.

The other way is to use a lot of 300W aquarium heaters.

Wow thanks a ton.. I did have a look at it.. but dont think these guys are here in India but the basic idea is fine.. i should look at something on these lines..

I was looking at the eheim website..

would this fit the bill? or could i do a series of external filters?

I'm not a canister person, so I'm not the best person to answer that. I'd keep the components seperate though. If one part goes bad, then you won't have to replace everything.

Your Hayward specs is that it uses 5.5kW is that 5500Wper/hr.? man that is alot of 300W heaters! or am I reading it wrong?
LOL. Do the math, then propose the problem and the solution.

It is quite simple actually.

I am in the planning stages of building a 2200 gallon pond, I will probably use a "TetraPond Bio-Active Pressure Filter 4000" or something similar. I am not sure what I am going to do about heat but I have been looking at a stainless steel heat exchanger and a boiler or use my hot water heater. If I electricity for heat there are some nice 500-4000 watt stainless steel heating elements that could be installed in the plumbing.
