I just bought a 90 gal 48*18*24 and don't know which is the best canister filter to get. I read alot on this form that ehiem is real good and durable. Some owners say they had theirs for over 19 yrs... Without changing anything on them. Wish they made cars like that, well I am leaning towards an ehiem 2260 is that overkill?? I'm going to stock in my tank some datnoids, bala sharks and some clown loaches. Can anyone give me some advise pls...thank you all for your time and advise.

That filter will do you fine, no such thing as too much filtration.

As two other options you could look at a FX5 or a XP4. You can't go wrong with any of these three filters

I have a FX5 and a XP2 on my 90 gallon and they both are outstanding filters
