i need some help on food for a jack dempsy i'm wondering which will cloud up the water the most right now i've got tetracichlid and hikari cichlid staple floating type he's about 4 inch's and he likes the tetra kind better he will take the hikari but only after him and the two convicts have eaten all the tetra i like hikari better because i now it's made with better ingredients but there twice the size of the tetra so he has to chew a bit to get it down to size and parts of it comes out his gills so it clouds up the water more it's the mini pellet so i guess i should get the baby pellet he likes the tetra better because it sinks so i'll try to find sinking hikari also
he also likes the tetra freeze dried baby shrimp

Looks like a basic diet to me:thumbsup:......Try San Francisco Bay Brand....I feed my monsters krill...Krill contains high amounts of methionine and lysine, amino acids that the fish cannot produce themselves so they need to be present in supplied foods for optimum health. Krill contains astaxanthin, a carotenoid easily metabolized by most fish species and is responsible for the vibrant colors of tropical fish......Cichlid Chow contains turjey meat, which is leaner than beef heart.....Excellant growth booster and color enhancer....Stay away from any live foods, unless you spawn your own stock....If, and when, you do decided upon live foods, spawn convicts...Convicts are prolific breeders and have a place in the hobby as a must have......

Frozen Brine.. Earthworms are excellent!! My jacks eat them up !! Krill as well... But earthworms are excellent natural source of food that doesn't cloud water.. EARTHWORMS!! Buy them at any spot near the lake :) 24 for 2.50 as an addition to other foods :) Varied diet

thanks for the imfo:grinyes:

what about feeding jds fruit i gave my pleco some mango but he didn't eat any of it but my jd liked it and i'm wondering if it's safe to give him it ?

They are Omnivorous so it shouldn't be a problem... but remember to keep it veried with both types of food...

thanks guys:grinyes:
