Hi, I just wanted to ask everyone out there what they thought of my first cichlid setup. Please leave comments on what you think. Also any fish in there that you are able to ID please let me know. only have 7 fish in total, the ones i know of are 2 x frontosa, and 1 x butterkoferi (if thats spelt properly)

Here goes for the pics:

Please give me some ideas, ultimately I would love to get some Labs, caeruleus, I love the electric yellows and blues. If anyone knows where to buy these type of fish in SCOTLAND, UK (or fish similar) Please get in touch and leave some comments.

Thanks for looking

lol yeah, what's up with the sea star?

it's buttikoferi, not butter.

that frontosa looks sharp. :naughty:

My Fiance insists on me keeping it in there. she bought me it........I keep trying to persuade her to put it in her tank with her coldwater fish, cause it looks so out of place. I've since added a small terracotta pot which the fish seem to keep clearing out.

Thanks for your comments guys.

turn it into a neclace for her........

you've got to start somewhere;)

I forgot to say....welcome to MFK!!

Thanks for all your comments, keep them coming...... and thanks for making me welcome.

What would be the option of having a breeding pair of convicts in this tank, would they be ok with the other tank mates.

New world and African cichlids prefer different types of water but I am sure the convicts would adapt to the Rift lake set up if you really wanted to try it I am sure someone has done it before.

Nice looking tank and welcome to MFK
