just adopted a 8inch raphael catfish from petco:) and i need suggestions on feeding.
ive been throwing in algae wafers for him because there big, will he eat those? what about market shrimp? ive also got sinking shrimp pellets, they are very small though
will any of these work as a staple? or do i need to go pickup something else, id rather not so if any of these are fine please let me know:)

Sinking pellets, market shrimp any meaty frozen foods should be OK. Feed at night first of all to encourage the fish to get comfortable with the surroundings. Not sure about the algae wafers though they will be OK as supplement but not staple.

I just freak out because hes nocturnal so ive never seen him eat

I heard that if a nocturnal gets hungry enough itll eat during the day, is this true?

not sure but my rtc comes out during the day (to eat) and my tsn only is active when lights go out.

ya
even if a fish is nocturnal
they will eventually adapt to your tank
its happnd to me every time i buy a nocturnal fish

Mine comes out for hikari sinking carnivore pellets and bloodworms during the day.
Ive yet to see him actually put any food in his mouth but he is seen in the immediate area of the food and he has grown nearly an inch in the last month and a half or so, So I assume he is eating.

they are Hardy little buggers, mine just survived a night and day in a nasty bucket of old tank water and fish poo and is doing fine so I wouldnt stress out too much over him!!
