Hey guys i need help in deciding whether to have these types in my 125 Gal, with a souped up filtration.

All Oscars-Different Kinds= Total of 6
1 Oscars -1 Jack D. -1 Green T. - 1 Jag
3 Oscars - 1 Jack D. - 1 Green T.
All Male Peacocks= Total of 30-40+
Mix of Hap/Peacock/Mbuna = Total of 30-40+

Any Pros/Cons would help. Also i have never kept South African Cichlids before, but i have kept other cichlids.

i would do a mix of mbuna/haps/peacocks.
you can breed them ten times easier and when you sell the fry you basically pay for whatever their needs are; food, dechlor, etc.

All Oscars-Look awesome with a group of six.

1 Oscars -1 Jack D. -1 Green T. - 1 Jag ...it's ok

3 Oscars - 1 Jack D. - 1 Green T.....it's ok also.

All Male Peacocks= Total of 30-40+....never tried this one...would look nice with all the colors in the tank.

Mix of Hap/Peacock/Mbuna = Total of 30-40+...never tried this one ether.would also look good with all the color

it all depends on what you want bro. want a tank busting tank....oscar's
if you want a peaceful, elagent tank...peacock. IMO.

Thanks guys for all the input. Couple of questions though if i did decide on all oscars = 6 which types should i get. I was thinking 2 Reds-2 Tigers-2 Albinos.

Also going all hap/mbunas/peacocks or any of thsoe combination would be really tough, because finding a great number of varieties where i live is very difficult.

As for the 1 Oscars -1 Jack D. -1 Green T. - 1 Jag ...do you guys think these guys would get a long fine if i get them all at a relatively young age and put them all in at once in my tank? I kind of like this one because it shows a different varieties from the south/central cichlids. I chose those four only because my tank is not as large that i could fit anymore of these types of beast XD. I might get away of fitting more, but not sure what else to add in this bunch.
Anyone have any experience with stocking all these kinds in one huge tank?

I think I would try the O, JD, GT, Jag mix. It could work and would look very cool. Something else to consider would be replacing the jag with a tiger mota, not quite as big and aggressive as the jag generally (of course there are exceptions). 6 oscars in a 125 might be a stretch and I could see a problem re: one or 2 of the less dominant ones getting beaten up or killed, or one or 2 pairs forming and then all hell breaks loose.

I have 1 oscar, 1 JD, and 1 jag in a 125g and they all get along fine. I think you would be fine with your GT, JD, Jag, Oscar mix if you get them small. 6 oscars would be a bit much in a 125g IMO
