hey my 3 1/2 inch oscar has a scrape on top of his head idk how he did it, i just noticed it when i came home from school. My main question is what is the best plan for action in this situation? my tank is at 87 degrees atm and has 1tsp of aquarium salt per 8 gallons atm, is that enough to help heal the cut or do i need somethin else. just trying to find out what to do so that i don't loose my lil oscar.

Treat with Melafix and as long as it's acting normally it should recover. Don't forget to remove any carbon in the filters if you have any as it will remove the treatment.

Melafix if you want to spend the $$.. otherwise increase salt to a total of 1 tbsp salt / 5gs of water and keep water clean, he'll heal up quickly.

to be honest you cant worry about every bump or scratch on oscars, i mean they are like the TANK of the fish world.. practically indestructable and rediculously hardy in any situation. they usually get these from bashing up against tank decorations and it will heal up real quick no worries. just keep the water as clean as possible and keep an eye on it, im sure he'll be fine ;) post more pics when he gets big and good luck !

Yeah... just use a lil salt... other wise use Melafix to speed up the healing process.
