Hi guys, THANK YOU in advance :)

Today afternoon, the red the tiger oscar ganged up on my lemon oscar... and left it...very spooked with missing scales. However, i noticed after the fight he/she was swimming FINE, but sometimes tilted to the side when he/she slows down. I gave them some food, and ALL of them ate like...well how oscars eat...the lemon gobbled it all instantly!

To be safe, i separated the lemon oscar...so he/she can get some healing time done to it's scales...there was no fin damage. Please could someone tell me by looking at Part 1 and Part 2 of the videos, on what might be wrong? In the morning it was fine...in the afternoon this fight took place. The video is after few hours of separation after the fight.

P.S. I read somewhere, oscars tend to tilt to the side if unhappy due to some reason?

*When i normally move around the aquarium... he/she swims perfectly active...trying to find a way outta the breeder net.

Oscars are known to sulk even lay on their sides on the bottom of the tank whan stressed mine used to do it all the time. Territory disputes are common you could try adding some other smaller fish to break your oscars focus on each other. Keeping the tank lower in their temp range can also help with aggression.

I think the Lemon will be ok. Yes it's true Oscars can lay on their side if not happy. When I moved my 12 inch Oscar he did the same in the esky and when back in my display tank was happy again. Your guy is probably just a little stressed being confined.

Sometimes two oscars may not work together especially in small tanks so keep a close eye on your Lemon when you decide to return him/her to the tank. You may find it's best to re-home if constantly picked on. You could always go a bigger tank with more decorations. That will mostly likely help too :)

Oscar's are easily upset. My 10" one did the exact same thing last night after I lowered the water level to add extra aeration. Soon as I put the light off he 'came to'. He was facing me in a coma and would only move his eyes until the lights went out. :D

it looks like it will be fine . i would upgrade to a way larger tank to give them more elbow room as oscars do need a mini. of 75 gallon tank for a single oscar so i would say invest in a 200+ gallon tank or even larger. they will lay on their side when stressed my red would just lay their when i first got it , only moved when other fish would try to bite it . then i put it in a 46 bow front by its self as a grow out and it swam around happily . now its in my dads pond in south florida and has been living there for about 5 years now and going strong

i have seperated the aggressive oscar for now and let the lemon out...god my 55 gal.needs to.cycle faster!!

Mine did the same thing right before he had his columnaris outbreak. So I think they do it because of stress.

If you keep two Oscars that get along you will need a 90-120 gallon aquarium for life. But they should be fine for now.
