help p.senegalus sick/dying

last night i noticed on the left side of my polypterus there was a big black/blue thing under the skin and i thought it must have just ate one of my zebra danios. this morning i look at him and hes laying upside down so i put my hand in the tank and moved him and he flipped over and started swimming around hes very bloated and the black thing is still on him on the inside hes not swimming to good and keeps flipping over does anyone know what this could be?
 
do you have any stingray or catfish in the tank that may have stabbed him?
 
no the only fish in it are zebra danios and giant danios and i just did a water change 2 days ago. i cant think of anything that could have possibly happened. i dont think hes gonna make it :cry: ive had him for 2 years too
 
perhaps he's impacted, what kind of substrate is it in?
 
ill have to find my camera to get a pic ill post it up later
hes in just the colored gravel
todays hes even more bloated and floating upside down i moved him a little and he started moving around

maybe you want to recheck the max size of giant danios because my lfs has one thats about 6 inches. as for the zebra danios there to big for him to eat and even if he does eat them theyre 80cents i dont really care. people have mixed crazier fish together.
