I posted a few weeks ago that I was building a T5 HO fixture for my 55 gallon planted tank. Currently I have standard 4100 Kelvin lamps in there while I'm waiting on my LFS to get some T5's in stock. It's taking to long for them to get them so now I'm looking elsewhere for lamps.
I work in electrical sales and have access to many different lamps in many different color renderings... previously I was told to go with a 6700 K lamp in my planted tank and have been looking for some online but have been unsuccessful thusfar!
Today I was talking to one of my vendors and was told that they offer a 6500 K lamp in the T5 HO... my cost is only $7.95 each and I can buy them in single, not case quanities! My question is will the 6500 K be as good as or as similar to 6700 K lamps, or should I continue to search for the 6700 K and scratch the 6500 K idea?
thanks
