Hello all.

I noticed the leak last night. Its not a really serious leak but it is enough to wear i think that a blow out could happen. Right now i put duct tape over the original part. then i noticed another one on the same seam so i put duct tape over that. What can i do to keep this together. Dont have another tank. can i repair it quikly to last only 2 moths before i can empty and really fix it?

THANKS!!!

are you serious about the duct tape? and where can i get the putty at?

You should be able to get the putty at any plumbing supply.
On another note, you really don't need another tank to empty this one out. Just several 5 gallon buckets. Personally, I would put the fish in buckets, empty the tank, and fix it right before you wake up to 70g on the floor and fish everywhere.

would i have to scratch away the old silicon or whatever then put the putty on? and how long would the putty take to dry before i would have to fill the tank up cuz the 5 gallon buckets wouldn't have heaters or filters...

The putty would be a temp fix done to the outside. However, obviously the seam is weak and needs to be fixed asap. Put the fish in totes/buckets/bathtub whatever and fix the tank right. It will take about 4 hours or so and the fish will be just fine. Remember they ship fish in bags for longer periods of time.

okay so the whole process would take under 4 hours? and what do i uses to seal the tank where do i get the sealant/what kind?
