Good morning,

My Piramboia SAL is with this disease.

It would be a fungus??

I'm using MelaFix.

Could anyone help me? She start to improve and then turned these white spots. Is eating very little.

She is in a hospital aquarium.

Temperature: 30 ° C
ph: 6.0

Follow the picture ..... if someone can help me thank you, the forums of Brazil, nobody could tell me what it is.

that looks like fungus, looks bad too....maybe caused by bad water conditions or maybe temperature changes.

bacterial infection/fungus. is the fish still eating?

i would highly suggest keeping the temp around 82 F (so a bit lower than what you have now), and do water changes ~75% every day. also add 1 tablespoon salt per 20 gallons of water in your tank.

discontinue use of melafix as it will not help the lungfish in this case. the large water changes and salt are your best bet right now.

keep us posted on how the fish progresses, if you keep up with this treatment there is a good chance the lungfish will recover (provided it is not too late at this point). good luck--

Ok friend, thanks for the help, she is currently in a hospital tank of 55 liters, with nothing, only with an external filter.

I'll follow your advice, I will lower the temperature a little, extra 1 tablespoon of salt to every 20 liters, and to an exchange of 75% water per day, and stop using MelaFix.

As you, I'll post here the progress of the process.

Today I gave two pieces of fish, we'll see tomorrow if she ate.

Tomorrow post some pictures of her.

Thank you!

good luck and i hope your fish recovers soon! one thing to note is a conversion of the salt treatment...i had mentioned 1 tablespoon of salt per 20 gallons, whereas you mentioned per 20 liters...with a lungfish this likely won't be a huge difference, but you may want to convert the gallons to equivalent number of liters and then make your salt concentration from there.

good luck and keep us posted.--

Hello friend

As the combined'm posting some photos of my Piramboia beyonce.

Today I return to 1 part of 75% with the addition of salt, in the right concentration

20 gallons = 75.70 liters.

And following some baby photos ... I think that first you can tell the current patches are still in it ...

ahhh the two pieces of fish that I put yesterday, she ate 1:)

Currently the only white spots that are in it, not those that appear small in the first and third picture, especially near a small head and a small one in the body ...

I think it is not improving?
