Here's a story
So...after looking at my pond running for a few weeks, I got some Koi and then decided I want some water plants since I also here it helps with algae control. My water is quite green. I bought some PondCare Pond Substrate for the Water Lilly and decided to first see if the substrate would really make a difference. So I put my smallest Anubius plant in a small pot with the substrate and it seems to be fine. And so, I read that Umbrella Plants help keep algae bloom in check. So I bought one. And I just put the Water Lilly in with the new substrate, but the Umbrella Plant is still in it's original pot with the original soil. The Umbrella Plant is partially submerged.
So I guess my question is...should I use the pond substrate as well in the Umbrella Plant or will the soil that it's in be fine?
