Hey guys.. Would an Eheim 2217 adequately filter my 75 gal with the following stock..

Stock: Electric Yellows x 8
P Demasoni x 12

Tank Dimensions: 48x18x20 (LxWxH)

Thanks for your help :)

I would question its ability to hold up to the crap factories that are mbuna, especially with 20 of them. I currently use an FX5 and two powerheads on my 75G and I've got 20 mbuna in it. More is better, but that eheim might do fine for a the while, it really depends on how much you clean the tank and how much you feedn them.

I'd say no considering I have an Eheim 2028 on my 80g with similar stock and I want better filtration

Nope I would pick up one more filter for pure mechanical since the Eheim got the bio covered. I got a 2217 on a 30g and it's perfect, though I wouldn't go above 55g with Eheim as the only filter.

I've decided to go with 2 x Eheim 2217's.. The cost of both was significantly cheaper then 1 FX5, plus the Eheims came with all filter media needed.

So new question, would the 2 Eheim 2217s be enough filtration for this tank with the above stocking??

Simple answer is yes.
Actually, you could have got by with just one, but having 2 filters is almost always a good idea.
