Came home today and my beautiful 16" aro has one eye clouded over and the other eye starting to cloud.

Water parameters are good (tested ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)... ph is 7.2

I bought some gel penicillin, but he's not taking his usual superworms so I can't feed it to him.

Took out carbon from the filter, changed floss, raised temperature and added a bunch of pimafix.

Can anyone recommend what to do? Any help is GREATLY appreciated! Thank you.

This can happen when old tank syndrome sets in but I have no idea how long this tanks been set up. Normal perams wont tell the whole story... A TDS reading (Total desolved solids) would give me a better idea. If it's over 450 then thats your likely problem and this can be corrected with increased water changes.

Give the pimafix a couple of days to work and try live crickets or frozen krill.

wrong one. melafix treats cloudy eye. you added a bunch of pimafix? did you dose it according to the instructions?

gel penicillin? your not treating anythng internal so you dont need to use it.

like always if its your water causing the problem, test it first, then perform water changes to get everything back in check.

oops..I stand corrected. I generally use nothing except salt in my tanks so I got the two of them mixed up.

Any other fish in this tank affected by this?

I used pimafix before to cure cloudy eyes but it doesnt work at all.

Thanks, I'm now using both melafix and pimafix. All the other fish (discus, loaches, bala) are okay.

Water is 82, ammonia/nitrite, nitrate all at 0.

He's still not eating today ...

Any other suggestions? I'm very worried! :(

Just use the melafix, water changes every other day at least 25%. Should be fine in about a week or two. Could run to the store get a box of tablets called the jungle. They fizz and they take care of a lot of diseases and sicknesses. But I would just use the melafix and 25% water changes.

what have you been feeding it i heard goldfish are bad for arowanas and does your tank have pebbles in it i heard that the nutritens in pebbles are bad for them and killed some of our arowanas the cloud eye could be because of ethier
