I made a base mistake and introduced a fire eel to me tank without isolating it first. My clown loaches started to die with what looks like columnaris. I lost 2.
I medicated the tank 24 hours ago with the only thing i could find that would be ok for all fishes. Ocean Free External Bacteria and Fungus
Away for Arowana. I used this because it says it's safe for all fishes. The CLs didn't like it and i was expecting to wake up to a group of dead CLs. They're all alive. I did try to find antibiotics, but i can't.
However, the tank has been dosed for about 18 hours, all my NTTs now have cloudy eyes. They have a whitish membrane over their eyes which seems to be shedding. I'm now doing A 70% wc. The 3rd in so many days.
My question that needs to be answered. is this the onset of columnaris in the NTTs? apart for the eyes the NTTs are showing no signs of illness.
Does anyone know how it would affect them?
Or is is the meds that have caused this to happen, in which case WCs and salt should cure it.
Any advice is welcome. Please don't just post to say sorry but i don't know how to help.
I've double posted this in the dat section, so sorry Mods.

No one got any advice?
Anyone used Ocean Free External Bacteria and Fungus Away for Arowana before?
Anyone seen columnaris in Dats? Or even aro for that matter? Could it be something else?

Any ideas? Should i cull the CLs? They're all looking ragged on the fins to varying degrees. I'm worried my tank is going to wipe out.
The Dats are able to see, but they all have clouded eyes on the surface. The aro now has a clouded spot on one eye.
I just did another 50% WC, so that's 2 in the same day to reduce the amount of meds in the tank. I've also put salt in and the lights are off. I'm not even trying to feed.
Tank perimeters are all good now, but to be honest i didn't check them prior to the first WC i did, when the first 2 CLs died.
The problems i have is i'm limited to getting meds that most of you guys use. Everything here is made in Asia.
Please give me some ideas.

Culumnaris is a pain. I had to fight it for weeks. I'll edit this in a couple minutes but first what is the temp o your tank? As the culumnaris is faster in warmer water for if your water is in the 80* f range maybe try lowering the temp. If possible could you snap a few pictures of the fish?

the Cls that died looked like the face shots. The rest of the fish are as you see them. I can't get a good shot of a cl now because they're spooked, but they all show signs of shredded fins, which started off as a white spot. Not long ago either.
the Dats are not shedding slime coat and seem ok apart from the eyes. This symptom was the morning after adding the med yesterday at midday. I did an immediate WC this morning and added salt. The biggest Dat only had a little cloudy eye at that point, but now has progressed to the same as the others.
You can see the little spot of the aros eye.
I've done another WC tonight and added salt in the right amount for the fresh water. No food has been put in the tank today. What was put in last night was eaten.
Regarding temp. I don't control it because i live in the tropics, but this time of year is hot as hell. i have the air con on every day at about 1p.m so the temp of the tank should not be too high. I don't own a thermometer because keeping temp high is never an issue.

I'm ready to cull the CLs if it will help the NTTs and the aro. Thanks for helping.

The cloudy eyes I'm not totally sure if that is culumnaris but the CL look like they might have it, you will need to treat the entire tank for it. I'm going to look up the meds that I see recommended most for it I just can't remember the name of it at the moment. Definatly keep up with the water changes as that helped me when I had it.
I remembered lol do you have access to Marycin 2?

The good news is it's not worse than yesterday, so it looks as if things are more stable. I'll have a look for that today.
