My male Breidohri lost his mind today and almost killed his partner :cry::cry:

I was able to get there somewhat in time, but she's in pretty bad shape. They had successfully spawned about a month ago and everything seemed fine, no signs of aggression what so ever. Don't know what the heck happened.

Any help as far as specific medicines or treatments I could use to help bring her back to life will be greatly appreciated. I put her alone in a 75 gal, and so far I've only added epson salt and raised the temperature a bit. Thanks, Gus. (I took the pics with my iphone, so bear with me)

Your doing just fine. Keep it up untill she pulls they, just increase the water changes to more frequent. If you notice any redness around the wounds then its infected and will need MEDS but otherwise your doing good with salt and water changes

x2.. good luck, hope she makes it.

Your doing good, yes stress coat, supplement to boost her immune system, UV filtration and water changes your right on. Look these brutes have some cave man in them which means this is what can happen in the wild also. Barrier solution and or cave so she can hide" and he cant fit in" for next time.

Good luck This has happened to all of us.

Been through this several times, and it sucks. Salt is a great thing in instances like this. Keep up the good work and she should be ok. Good luck.

Thanks guys. Im gonna do water changes every 3rd or 4th day and keep the temperature up. There aren't any real signs of excessive redness yet, so hopefully there isn't any infection or anything like that. I really don't wanna loose this fish.

What exactly is "stress coat" and where can i get it??

Thanks, Gus.

Stress coat is a product I do not sell it, own it or invest in it. I dont want to get slammed for talking about it. You can check it out on line its one of those that help with the fishes natural slime coat. There are others.

DId not mean to mention a brand name.

Good luck
