Help please identify!

First off this site is awesome!

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong area (noob) but can anyone help identify this fish. I'm sure it's crossed with a tiger shovelnose, but I have no idea what the other type is. He's about 12 inches long and the pet store said he was about a year old.

The last pic I''m not sure either, some kind of channel cat i think. sorry about the pic my digital is in serious need of retirement.
