Hey my poly peeps I noticed a discoloration on Prada our baby delhezi she's in a grow out with a couple of banjo cats and 2 snails the parameters are all spot on but when I checked on her last night I saw this



Please tell me this is just heater burn and not columnaris or however its spelled

I doubt its disease related. Probably heater born or just a scrap.

Keep the water clean and it should heal up on not time. Im neurotic too lol id keep and eye on it to see if theres any other patches just to play it safe

It's just the one I checked her all over last night before bed unfortunately I'm one of those few people who don't have internet at home so I had to wait till I was at work to post this

Yeah looks like just scrape, heater burn will be more white

It looks like a scrape to me. Maybe she got scared and ran into one of the rocks or something.

A heater guard might be a good investment if you don’t already have one. I used to worry about heater burn all the time; my polys run into the heater on a daily basis. After Doc kno4te suggested to get one, it definitely has eased my worries.

THanks Chelsea and Kurt I think you’re right about it being a scrape I have a chunk of dragon stone in her tank so that was probably the culprit heater guards are definitely something I need to invest in

Any sharp edge stine should be a no no with poly, remember this fish are basiclly blind, easy to get spook and scrap their body into the stone.
