HI, recently pick up this cichlid for my new cichlid tank set up. (at the moment he is about 1inch) But Not sure the name/type of it put pretty sure its African. any help would be awesome. Thanks!

Looks like it's possibly a Tropheus Moorii, kinda hard to say for sure from the picture

thanks, thats what i was thinking too.... If that is what this fish is, he shouldnt be in a mixed tank with SA (young) cichlids, but rather an African or species tank.. correct?... thanks for the help

Correct and my experience is that tropheus do best in larger groups same species only.
