Somewhere???
Ive encountered a serious dilemma and I was hoping I could get some feedback you guys. Going to get a Three Spot Snakehead (forgot the latin name) on friday. The problem is that I have a 30g grow out tank which presently holds my 4 inch Hoplias. He was going to be my next project and Ive been waiting for one for almost a year. Then this snakehead offer came through and I had to get one. The SH is about 3-4 inches. My prob is that I really love the wolf, but I also know that my dealings with SH's are few and far between. Should I get rid of the Wolf (who is a vicious little guy), or should I chance the two together in my 125g tank?
Thanks

You will need to seperate those fish as soon as possible or one , maybe both will die. If nothing else get a food grade plastic storage tub (40g) for around $15 US to use as a grow out.

tank divider maybe?

Channa pleurophthalma according to different estimates grow somewhere between 10"-18" and are one of the few snakeheads that will live together with their own kind.At that size he will be at risk from the wolf, after observing the snakeheads feeding behaviour they dont seem to be able to bite off from prawn, whitebait etc so we have to shred them.Certainly a tank divider will be the best option in the larger tank and in mean time storage tub with plants will be fine.Watch them though, they are good jumpers.
